Our law firm is growing and we are looking for an Associate Lawyer to join our team. 1-3 years of experience required. Must have an active LSBC license.
THE ROLE:
We are seeking an Associate Lawyer with experience in Litigation to join our team. The role is completely remote. The ideal candidate would be a “solicigator” with practical experience with both business law and commercial litigation and procedure as well as a track record of successfully managing files from inception through resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently handle files involving litigation or settlements
- Represent clients in litigation matters, specifically breach of contract disputes, business partner disputes, construction disputes, estate variation claims, and real estate disputes.
- Draft, file, and respond to legal pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct legal research to develop case strategies and provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Manage all aspects of case preparation, including speaking with the clients, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and consulting with experts.
- Advocate for clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships—whether they come through the firm or through your own network.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
- 1-3 years of experience in litigation
- Entrepreneurial spirit—you enjoy business development and have a network or plan to grow your own book of business.

- Independent—you have strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
