Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite)<br/><br/>Duration: 6+ Month Contract<br/><br/>Our banking client’s Personal & Business Banking Analytics Scorecard Team is seeking a SAS/SQL Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of critical performance reporting solutions.<br/><br/>This role is heavily focused on hands‑on SAS and PROC SQL development. The successful candidate will build and modify SAS programs that extract, transform, and prepare large datasets by applying complex business rules used to measure employee performance, incentive compensation, sales activity, and operational scorecards.<br/><br/>This individual will translate new reporting requirements into scalable SAS code, transforming raw transactional data into reporting‑ready datasets that feed SQL Server and downstream reporting tools such as SSRS and Power BI. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving business problems through code and building scalable reporting solutions that directly support business decision‑making.<br/><br/>What You’ll Be Doing<br/><br/>Develop, maintain, and enhance SAS programs and scripts supporting the bank’s performance scorecards and compensation reporting.<br/><br/>Write new SAS code while enhancing existing programs to support evolving business requirements and reporting needs.<br/><br/>Apply new business logic within SAS to calculate performance metrics, incentive eligibility, sales activity, and operational KPIs.<br/><br/>Extract, cleanse, transform, and organize large datasets using SAS and PROC SQL.<br/><br/>Combine multiple data sources, validate data quality, and prepare reporting‑ready datasets at the employee, team, regional, and organizational levels.<br/><br/>Build reusable data preparation processes that feed SQL Server and downstream reporting platforms including SSRS and Power BI.<br/><br/>Write medium‑complexity SQL queries to validate data, troubleshoot issues, and support reporting development.<br/><br/>Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business rules into technical solutions.<br/><br/>Investigate reporting discrepancies, perform data reconciliation, and ensure reporting accuracy across multiple data sources.<br/><br/>Support production reporting processes while continuously identifying opportunities to improve automation and reporting efficiency.<br/><br/>Document business logic, data transformations, and technical processes to support long‑term maintainability.<br/><br/>Required Qualifications<br/><br/>4–5 years of hands‑on SAS development experience.<br/><br/>4-5 years of hands‑on SQL (intermediate level SQL at minimum)<br/><br/>Strong experience writing SAS code and developing SAS programs from scratch while enhancing existing scripts<br/><br/>Experience using PROC SQL within SAS for data manipulation, joins, aggregations, filtering, and transformations.<br/><br/>JOINs<br/><br/>GROUP BY<br/><br/>Aggregate Functions<br/><br/>WHERE clauses<br/><br/>Filtering<br/><br/>Experience transforming large datasets and applying complex business rules to produce reporting‑ready outputs.<br/><br/>Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis.<br/><br/>Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand both technical and business requirements.<br/><br/>Excellent communication skills with experience working directly with business stakeholders.<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications<br/><br/>Banking or Financial Services experience.<br/><br/>Experience supporting scorecards or operational performance reporting.<br/><br/>Exposure to SQL Server environments.<br/><br/>Experience with SSRS or Power BI (nice to have, not required).<br/><br/>Basic Linux experience supporting scheduled jobs or automation processes.<br/><br/>#J-18808-Ljbffr
