Senior Accountant

$90,000–$100,000 + Strong Bonus + Benefits

Our client is a publicly listed organization with international operations and a lean, collaborative corporate team. They offer accounting professionals the opportunity to gain broad exposure, take on meaningful responsibility, and contribute directly to a growing business.

This opportunity is ideal for a CPA candidate or recently designated CPA looking to further develop their technical expertise while gaining exposure to public company reporting, operational accounting, and cross-functional business initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Support public company reporting requirements, regulatory filings, and external audit processes.
  • Prepare working papers, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for financial reporting and compliance activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and controls.

Corporate & Operational Accounting

  • Perform full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records across multiple entities.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable activities, cash management, and intercompany transactions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis initiatives across the organization.

Process Improvement & Business Support

  • Assist with enhancing accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
  • Prepare financial analyses and management reporting packages to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operational and corporate teams on special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of the designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS or the ability to quickly learn and apply accounting standards.
  • Experience within project-based, industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, construction, mining, or natural resource environments is an asset but not required.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working within multi-entity organizations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
