We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a team developing innovative cloud-based software solutions that support cutting-edge scientific and healthcare technologies. In this role, you will design and build scalable backend services, contribute to modern cloud architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software products.<br/><br/>Location
Hybrid – Mississauga<br/><br/>Key Responsibilities<br/><br/>Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend APIs and software features.<br/><br/>Architect and implement cloud-native solutions using modern distributed systems and serverless technologies.<br/><br/>Build and enhance microservices-based applications using Java and Spring Boot.<br/><br/>Develop clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices.<br/><br/>Create and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.<br/><br/>Leverage AI-assisted development tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve software design, implementation, and productivity.<br/><br/>Research and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and development practices to continuously improve engineering processes.<br/><br/>Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.<br/><br/>Contribute to software architecture discussions and support continuous improvement initiatives.<br/><br/>Required Qualifications<br/><br/>6+ years of professional software development experience.<br/><br/>Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.<br/><br/>Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.<br/><br/>Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.<br/><br/>Experience building and maintaining microservices-based architectures.<br/><br/>Strong knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.<br/><br/>Experience working in Agile development environments.<br/><br/>Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.<br/><br/>Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical challenges.<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications<br/><br/>Experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS.<br/><br/>Frontend development experience and the ability to contribute to full-stack initiatives.<br/><br/>Background in life sciences, bioinformatics, healthcare, or medical devices.<br/><br/>Experience developing software in regulated environments with design control processes.<br/><br/>What Were Looking For

90K. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications, in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.<br/><br/>Canadian Experience Requirement
