The Montreal facility plays a key role in engineering, manufacturing, and launching new aerospace products that support demanding operational missions such as firefighting, rescue, and utility operations.
DART Aerospace is seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Engineer to lead the development of advanced aerospace systems and components. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, creativity, and leadership to complex engineering projects from concept to certification
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the conceptualization, design, analysis, and development of aerospace systems and components.
- Perform advanced engineering analyses, including structural, thermal, and fatigue analysis, using FEA and other methods.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation: CAD drawings, specifications, reports, and test plans in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Plan, execute, and oversee testing and validation activities; analyze test data and compile detailed technical reports.
- Proactively identify and resolve complex technical challenges with innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, and project management teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and designers.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
- Lead and participate in design reviews; effectively communicate technical findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality assurance standards throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience
10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace product development, mechanical design, or structural engineering.
Key Competencies
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software SolidWorks.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace materials, structural analysis, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and certification processes (e.g., FAA, EASA, TCCA).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor others.
- Knowledge of STC development processes is a strong asset
