Description
We are seeking an experienced Excavation Foreman to lead our field crews and oversee earthworks projects from start to finish. This role is designed for a hands‑on leader who prioritizes site safety, operational efficiency, and high-quality workmanship in challenging environments.
Key Duties<br/><br/>Crew Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of operators and laborers, ensuring clear communication of daily goals and site-specific tasks.
Project Oversight: Manage on‑site operations for excavations, earthworks, and water utility projects, ensuring work aligns with blueprints and engineering specs.
Safety Management: Enforce strict adherence to provincial OHS regulations. Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure all hazard assessments (FLHAs) are completed accurately.
Equipment Coordination: Oversee the effective use of heavy equipment (excavators, skidsteers, and loaders) and coordination for mobilization and demobilization.
Reporting: Maintain accurate daily logs, track production quantities, and report progress weekly.
Required Qualifications<br/><br/>Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction or excavation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/foreman capacity.
Safety Mindset: Valid safety certifications (CSTS, Ground Disturbance Level II, First Aid) and a thorough understanding of hazard management.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team under tight deadlines while maintaining a professional and productive work environment.
