As a Software Engineer (Network Security) at Maplecolo, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our flagship products. You will be a part of the software engineering team, responsible for a wide range of hands‑on software engineering duties, including software development, delivery, and maintenance of a tool to monitor and inspect network packets with a focus on cryptography. Your love of learning and entrepreneurial mindset will be an asset to the team. Your ability to collaborate and approach problems hands‑on will be essential for this role. You are excited about joining a friendly and supportive team, where there is ample opportunity to grow.<br/><br/>What you’ll do<br/><br/>Understand network encryption standards and protocols from OSI L2-L4<br/><br/>Knowledge of software integration across an enterprise environment<br/><br/>Learn and adapt both themselves and their software to evolving requirements<br/><br/>Be a collaborative and transparent team member<br/><br/>Contribute to the design of the software architecture and the product<br/><br/>Be technically hands‑on, ready to dive into coding, troubleshooting, and developing automated solutions<br/><br/>Participate in testing the product and features and developing new processes and procedures<br/><br/>What you’ll need to succeed<br/><br/>Strong proficiency in C++. Experience in Python, Js, and/or C<br/><br/>Experience in enterprise software development environment<br/><br/>Knowledge of post‑quantum cryptography<br/><br/>Expertise in software deployment in an enterprise setting<br/><br/>5‑10 years of experience as a back‑end software engineer<br/><br/>5+ years experience in Linux<br/><br/>Solid understanding of software architecture<br/><br/>Solid experience with communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.)<br/><br/>Great communication skills<br/><br/>A strong understanding of security<br/><br/>Requirements<br/><br/>You must have authorization to legally work in Canada<br/><br/>Evening work<br/><br/>Attendance at meetings during the evening<br/><br/>Qualifications<br/><br/>​Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field<br/><br/>Language<br/><br/>English (required), French (a plus), Putonghua (a plus) and Cantonese (a plus)<br/><br/>Remuneration<br/><br/>Salary is negotiable or based on experience<br/><br/>Work Location: In person<br/><br/>#J-18808-Ljbffr
