Role Description

The Tax Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Markham, ON. This role is responsible for overseeing tax compliance and preparation for the family office and related entities, including T2s, T3s, T5013s, various elections and assisting with other tax planning and organization matters. Day‑to‑day duties include reviewing and filing tax returns, managing tax reporting schedules, attribute tracking, managing deadlines and other projects.

The Tax Manager will collaborate closely with accounting, legal, and investment teams to ensure accurate tax provisioning, documentation, and risk management. The role also involves responding to tax authority inquiries, maintaining internal controls for tax processes, and providing clear guidance to stakeholders on tax implications.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Tax Law and general Tax concepts, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation for individuals, corporations, and investment entities.
  • Experience managing tax processes in a multi‑jurisdiction environment (Canada and United States) is highly beneficial.
  • Progressive tax experience in public accounting, family office, or investment management settings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex tax issues clearly.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
