About the Program

This program places teachers in public elementary, middle, and high schools across South Korea, working alongside Korean co-teachers to deliver the national English curriculum.

Wherever you’re placed, you’ll find excellent public transit, a strong sense of community, and easy access to the country’s beaches, mountains, and cultural sites. Teachers are provided with furnished, rent-free housing or a monthly housing allowance, depending on placement.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a Canadian university (any discipline)
  • Visa Eligibility: Must be eligible for the E2 Korean visa
  • Certification: TESOL/TEFL certification (100 hours or more) is required and can be obtained online prior to travelling

Compensation & Benefits

  • Monthly salary: approx. 2 to 2.7 million KRW, based on qualifications and experience
  • Housing provided rent-free, or a monthly housing allowance if independent housing is arranged
  • Round-trip airfare: reimbursement or coverage for both entrance and exit flights
  • National health insurance, with the cost shared with the employer
  • Paid vacation days, plus national holidays and school breaks
  • Pension contribution, refundable to eligible participants at the end of the contract

  • Orientation Program: Cultural, language, and teaching orientation provided before placement begins, with lodging and meals included
  • Settlement support upon arrival
  • Completion bonus: Severance pay equivalent to one month’s salary upon successful completion of a full one year contract
