You will be joining a dynamic and collaborative design studio specializing in interior design and architectural solutions for complex, large-scale projects. The team fosters a culture of mentorship, innovation, and continuous learning, with a strong emphasis on design excellence, sustainability, and client relationships.
Your New Role
As a Team Leader, you will take ownership of mid- to large-scale projects (75,000 sq. ft. and above), leading both design execution and team performance. You will manage project delivery from pre-design through to construction and close-out, ensuring quality, timelines, and client expectations are met.
You will mentor junior team members, oversee workflows and resourcing, and support senior leadership in evaluating team performance and development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading concept development, visioning sessions, and overall design strategy
- Supervising the production of drawings, specifications, and construction documentation
- Reviewing work for code compliance, technical accuracy, and design integrity
- Managing client relationships, presentations, and consultant coordination
- Overseeing project budgets, schedules, and resource forecasting
- Leading site coordination, contract administration, and construction processes
- Driving team meetings, performance feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting marketing efforts and contributing to studio culture and knowledge sharing
You will act as a key point of contact internally and externally, ensuring seamless communication across all stakeholders while maintaining a high standard of design leadership.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong mix of design expertise, leadership capability, and project management experience, including:
- A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Architectural Technology
- Professional designation (e.g., NCIDQ); additional certifications are an asset
- Proven experience leading mid- to large-scale projects
- Strong technical knowledge, including building codes and accessibility standards
- Advanced proficiency in CAD/Revit and design documentation processes
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving ability across design, technical, and construction challenges
- Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration
- Familiarity with sustainable design frameworks (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, etc)
- Ability to work independently while leading and inspiring a team
What You’ll Get in Return
