Chief Executive Officer – Atlas Sign & Awning

Atlas Sign & Awning is a full-service commercial signage and branding company based in Langley, British Columbia, serving clients across Canada and the United States. For more than 30 years, the company has specialized in helping businesses enhance their visibility through custom-designed signage, awnings, and branded architectural elements. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the holding company, the appointed CEO for Atlas Sign & Awning will provide strategic and operational leadership across all facets of the business, driving performance, profitability, and sustainable growth. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, optimizing production and project execution, supporting business development initiatives, and fostering a high-performance culture built on accountability and collaboration. The ideal candidate combines strong operational expertise with a customer-focused sales mindset, exceptional financial acumen and experience, and a proven ability to build relationships, develop teams, and execute on long-term growth strategies within a fast-paced, ever-changing manufacturing/service environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including production, installation, and project delivery.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Optimize workflows, processes, and resource allocation to improve efficiency
  • Monitor key performance metrics and implement continuous improvements initiatives to drive efficiencies.

Sales & Business Development

  • Foster and build a sales-focused, growth-mind collaborate culture.
  • Support, lead and manage a dedicated project sales team, to ensure consistent pipeline growth, and customer cultivation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key national clients, partners, and supplies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on proposals, pricing strategies, and closing key deals.
  • Identify new market opportunities to support long term, sustainable revenue growth across North America.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team across office, production, sales and field roles.
  • Foster a strong, collaborative culture focused on mutual support, shared success and teamwork.
  • Align departments to improve communication and execution across projects.
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent to support long-term scaling plans.

Financial & Strategic Oversight

  • Manage budgets, forecasting, and profitability targets.
  • Oversee and manage full P&L for the organization, alongside a strong financial team, and Controller.
  • Track job costing, margins, and operational expenses.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and long-term business growth initiatives.
  • Lead the charge and vision with respect to charting Atlas Sign & Awning’s strategic direction and big-picture goals through identifying opportunities and anticipating market trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business, Commerce, or Operations Management
  • MBA preferred but not necessary
  • 5-7 Years of Senior Level Management with a focus on profitably scaling organizations through effective and strategic business development, sales and marketing plans
  • Proven track record of success in leadership within a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to communicate, and present at an exceptional level – both written and verbal
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to innovate and implement
  • Possess exception leadership qualities and the ability to connect with your team at all levels, including with managers to the plant level hourly employees.
  • Must be able to coach and mentor, but also maintaining expectations for results with accountability
  • Demonstrate critical and strategic thinking skills, including decision making skills.
  • Previous experience creating, developing, and executing sales plans that involve budgeting and deep goal setting

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $200-220K annually. The actual base salary for this position may depend on various factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience and work location. At Atlas Sign and Awning, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. This position will also be supported with an annual bonus incentive plan, RRSP matching program, vacation and extended benefits plan.
