About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its strategic evolution and advance its vision, mission, and mandate. The successful candidate will be responsible for executive management, ensuring compliance with the VQA Act, and leading a team that performs regulatory functions such as testing and evaluating wines, auditing and inspecting wineries, and enforcing compliance. The CEO will also be the primary point of contact for industry, government, and stakeholder outreach, and will supervise educational programs to promote the value and benefits of VQA-certified wines. The role requires a senior leader with a strong background in regulatory procedures, excellent government engagement skills, and the ability to build and maintain constructive relationships across the wine ecosystem.

The ideal candidate for the CEO position at the company will have a post-secondary or graduate degree in a relevant field and a deep understanding of regulatory standards and practices. Familiarity with the VQA Act and related wine laws is an asset. The role demands a professional with high standards of ethics and integrity, a strategic thinker, and an effective leader with excellent communication and management skills. The CEO will be expected to ensure the integrity and authenticity of the company’s appellation system, foster consumer trust, and promote a culture of education and continuous improvement within the wine sector.
