Portfolio Planning Manager

Contract: 12 months + ext

Remote: Canada

Rate: $34-45/hr

A high profile client of Insight Global is seeking a clinical portfolio planner to lead integrated planning and scheduling efforts across multiple therapeutic areas of the business. This role is critical in supporting both study-level and asset-level planning, working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with clinical development goals. They will lead the development and maintenance of integrated schedules at both the study and asset levels, ensuring alignment with portfolio priorities and submission timelines. Collaborate with PMs to support submission planning, resource forecasting, and scenario modeling. Conduct costing and resource planning, including time and effort estimates across clinical programs. Facilitate planning across multiple therapeutic areas, with a focus on clinical trials Support governance and decision-making by providing clear visibility into timelines, risks, and resource constraints. Ensure planning data integrity and consistency across systems and reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of integrated schedules at both the study and asset levels, ensuring alignment with portfolio priorities and submission timelines.
  • Collaborate with PMs to support submission planning, resource forecasting, and scenario modeling using Microsoft Project and Planisware.
  • Conduct costing and resource planning, including time and effort estimates across clinical programs.
  • Partner with PMs to ensure strategic alignment of planning activities, leveraging their soft skills and cross-functional insights.
  • Facilitate planning across multiple therapeutic areas, with a focus on clinical trials in I&I, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Vaccines.
  • Support governance and decision-making by providing clear visibility into timelines, risks, and resource constraints.
  • Ensure planning data integrity and consistency across systems and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in portfolio planning, project scheduling, or clinical operations within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Planisware is required.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development processes and therapeutic area nuances, especially in I&I and Internal Medicine.
  • Demonstrated experience in resource and cost planning at both study and asset levels.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
