Description

Job Summary

The Principal Consultant at TMT Research is a senior US/Canada-based client-facing role within Evalueserve’s Insights & Advisory practice, serving as the day-to-day strategic partner for global technology clients across the United States.

You will work in close collaboration with the Associate Director (AD) to manage and grow key client relationships, lead the scoping and solutioning of new engagements, and ensure the quality and relevance of work products. This is a high-accountability role at the intersection of client relationship management, strategic research leadership, and commercial development.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for assigned TMT clients, building trust and credibility with director-level stakeholders

• Participate in and lead client meetings, readouts, and strategic review sessions, with the ability to operate independently

• Proactively identify evolving client needs, strategic priorities, and whitespace opportunities -translating these into new engagement proposals and expanded mandates

• Navigate stakeholder complexity with maturity, ensuring alignment across multiple client business units and geographies

Engagement Scoping & Solutioning

• Partner with the AD to scope, structure, and price new engagements across TMT research themes including competitive intelligence, product marketing strategy, go-to-market, pricing strategy, and emerging technology ecosystems

• Translate ambiguous client problems into clear research frameworks, analytical workplans, and structured deliverable outlines

• Develop compelling proposals and pitch materials tailored to the priorities of senior client audiences

Delivery Leadership & Quality Oversight

• Act as the project delivery lead / project manager – bridging the gap between client expectations and execution teams across other centers such as India, China, Chile, Romania, etc.

• Provide analytical direction and quality oversight on ongoing engagements: framing hypotheses, reviewing interim outputs, sharpening insights, and elevating the narrative quality of final deliverables

• Ensure deliverables meet the strategic framing and storytelling standards expected by executive client audiences – not just analytical accuracy, but advisory relevance

• Manage engagement timelines, escalate risks proactively, and course-correct delivery where necessary

Commercial Development Support

• Contribute to revenue growth within assigned accounts by identifying opportunities for expansion, follow-on work, and cross-functional engagement

• Support the AD in strategic account planning activities, including mapping client org structures, tracking stakeholder movements, and building relationship plans

• Represent Evalueserve credibly in client conversations that blend advisory substance with commercial intent

Thought Leadership & Team Development

• Bring a point of view to client work – sharing market perspectives, industry frameworks, and technology trends that add intellectual value beyond pure research delivery

• Mentor and develop consultants and senior consultants, providing structured feedback on analytical thinking, communication quality, and client orientation

• Contribute to internal knowledge-building through engagement retrospectives, insight synthesis, and POV development on TMT themes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline

  • 8-12 years of total experience in strategy consulting, market intelligence, strategic research, or product/market strategy roles

  • Minimum 3–5 years of direct client-facing experience, ideally within a top-tier consulting firm, research organization, or technology company

  • Demonstrated experience supporting or owning client relationships at the VP/Director level within global technology companies

  • Exceptional PowerPoint storytelling and written communication skills; ability to craft deliverables that meet executive-audience standards

  • Strong analytical foundation – comfortable with structured problem-solving, hypothesis-led frameworks, and translating ambiguous questions into clear research workplans

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s degree from a reputed institution

  • Prior experience in a client-facing role at a top-tier or boutique strategy consulting firm with a TMT or technology sector focus

  • Experience serving large-enterprise technology clients on engagements such as competitive benchmarking, TAM/market sizing, pricing and packaging strategy, partner or channel advisory, or product launch GTM

  • Familiarity with AI/GenAI platform ecosystems, cloud infrastructure market dynamics, developer and partner ecosystems, or enterprise software go-to-market models

  • Experience bridging onshore–offshore consulting delivery models, with an understanding of how to maximize offshore leverage while maintaining client-facing quality

  • Track record of contributing to commercial activities – proposal writing, scoping, opportunity identification, or account expansion conversations
