Details of the position<br/><br/>Job title:<br/><br/>Student Supervisor<br/><br/>School / Centre / Department :<br/><br/>Farnham Elementary School<br/><br/>Location :<br/><br/>Farnham, Quebec<br/><br/>Workload :<br/><br/>5 hours per week<br/><br/>(Monday to Friday from 11:20 am to 12:20 pm<br/><br/>Salary :<br/><br/>$25.42 – $27.65 per hour<br/><br/>Supervisor :<br/><br/>School Principal<br/><br/>Nature of the work<br/><br/>The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in ensuring that students adhere to the school policy on discipline.<br/><br/>Description of tasks<br/><br/>Supervise students in the school and its buildings to ensure that rules are observed and that students are safe.<br/><br/>Make rounds, give warnings, observe, and report any abnormal situations to the persons designated<br/><br/>Greet and direct students and visitors<br/><br/>Explain regulations<br/><br/>If necessary, give his or her advice concerning the drawing up and evaluation of regulations<br/><br/>May supervise students during exams, in detention, or isolation rooms, or in the classroom, when the teacher is absent for a short period of time<br/><br/>Supervises students during the arrival and departure of school buses as well as on the bus<br/><br/>Supervise students in the cafeteria<br/><br/>May be required to help students with eating, dressing, get around<br/><br/>In conjuncture with teachers and the students services staff, participate in carrying out and supervising student activities.<br/><br/>Make sure that the necessary material and accessories are available for certain activities<br/><br/>Within his or her competence and according to school policy:<br/><br/>Maintain a safe environment, particularly in stopping fights and other acts of aggression<br/><br/>Assist the school administration concerned when conducting locker or student searches<br/><br/>Notify the police and works with the latter<br/><br/>May be called upon to act as a witness in court<br/><br/>Participates in preparing accident and theft reports<br/><br/>Administers first aid<br/><br/>Locks and unlocks rooms and gates<br/><br/>Assign lockers and locks; ensure return of locks<br/><br/>View the security camera feeds used for nighttime surveillance and notify administration of any abnormal situation observed<br/><br/>Participate in monitoring absences<br/><br/>Collect absence lists<br/><br/>May be required to enter data and carry out the compilation requested<br/><br/>Issues and compiles late slips and so informs the administration according to the procedure established<br/><br/>Call parents to inquire about student absence<br/><br/>Perform any other related duty.<br/><br/>Desired profile<br/><br/>Meet one of the following profiles:<br/><br/>Hold a secondary school diploma<br/><br/>Hold an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have one (1) year of pertinent experience in those areas requiring self-discipline, general concepts in psychology and human relations skills.<br/><br/>Other requirements:<br/><br/>1. Fluent in French & English<br/><br/>2. Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of:<br/><br/>a standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8)-hour duration<br/><br/>a refresher course of a minimum six(6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course mentioned in subparagraph 1.<br/><br/>
