Senior Consultant Data & Solution Architect (Microsoft Fabric)
Role Details
Location:<br/><br/>Hybrid – Toronto or Montreal, Canada (2 days per week at the office)<br/><br/>Contract:<br/><br/>Permanent, Full-time<br/><br/>What Youll Architect<br/><br/>Collaborate with client stakeholders to translate business objectives into scalable target‑state data architectures and strategic roadmaps<br/><br/>Architect end‑to‑end data platforms, lakehouses, and pipelines using Microsoft Fabric and complementary cloud technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Data Services<br/><br/>Design and govern medallion lakehouse architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold) that prioritize scalability, governance, performance, and data quality<br/><br/>Architect parameterized ingestion frameworks supporting batch and near real‑time integrations across databases, APIs, files, streaming platforms, and hybrid environments<br/><br/>Optimize pipeline and query performance through Spark tuning, partitioning strategies, shortcuts, and incremental loading techniques<br/><br/>Design and optimize semantic models, including star schemas, DirectLake and Import strategies, DAX optimization, relationships, and aggregations<br/><br/>Define and implement CI/CD strategies that enable reliable, automated, and scalable deployments across multiple environments<br/><br/>Establish and promote Fabric architecture standards, reusable frameworks, and engineering best practices across engagements<br/><br/>Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers, Analysts, and multidisciplinary delivery teams while ensuring architectural alignment<br/><br/>Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches that strengthen client data ecosystems and business capabilities<br/><br/>WHO YOU ARE<br/><br/>You emerging capabilities into practical business value<br/><br/>QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS<br/><br/>Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field<br/><br/>7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Modern Data Architecture roles<br/><br/>Minimum 2 years of experience serving as a Data Architect or Technical Lead delivering end‑to‑end solutions<br/><br/>Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud architecture certifications are considered an asset<br/><br/>TECHNICAL SKILLS<br/><br/>Deep hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Fabric, including medallion lakehouse architectures, ingestion frameworks, semantic models, and performance optimization<br/><br/>Strong experience with at least one additional modern data platform such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory<br/><br/>Advanced understanding of data warehouse, lakehouse, and cloud‑native architecture patterns<br/><br/>Experience designing hybrid data integration strategies across on‑premises and cloud environments<br/><br/>Expertise optimizing Spark workloads, partitioning strategies, incremental loading, and scalable data pipelines<br/><br/>Experience designing semantic models using star schema principles, DirectLake, Import strategies, DAX optimization, and aggregations<br/><br/>Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for enterprise data platforms<br/><br/>Proven ability to present, defend, and guide architectural decisions with senior client stakeholders<br/><br/>Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments<br/><br/>NICE‑TO‑HAVE<br/><br/>Experience leading enterprise‑scale Microsoft Fabric adoption initiatives<br/><br/>Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Master Data Management frameworks<br/><br/>Experience with Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, or DataOps position ranges from $115,000 to $130,000 CAD, depending on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
