Description
In this role, you will lead and develop a high‑performing estimating team, driving consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the department. You will guide bids across hard bid, cost‑plus, and design‑build delivery models, leveraging advanced estimating tools (OST) to support informed decision‑making.
Lead and manage the estimating department, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance management
Oversee subcontractor and supplier solicitation, quote analysis, and trade selection for major pursuits
Prepare and review detailed quantity take‑offs and estimates, ensuring clear handover to project teams
Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and site conditions to develop comprehensive bids
Integrate RFIs, specifications, and commercial terms into submissions
Develop project and execution schedules in collaboration with project teams and trades
Support stakeholder and executive bid presentations
Prepare conceptual estimates using historical data
Participate in major trade pre‑award meetings as required
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of progressive estimating experience within ICI construction, including demonstrated experience managing or leading an estimating team; on-site project management experience is an asset
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office, Onscreen Take Off (OST), and related estimating software; familiarity with BIM modeling is an asset
- Strong understanding of trade-related drawings, specifications, and construction documents, with the ability to assess completeness and provide direction
- Knowledge of construction costs, budgeting, and project schedule development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and provide coaching and mentorship
