We’re Hiring: Senior Canadian Immigration Associate (Lawyer with 5+ Years’ Experience)

As a Senior Immigration Associate at Mobility Law PC, you will have the benefit of working with sophisticated global clientele and the opportunity to further develop your technical, business development and leadership skills. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Oversee temporary work authorization, visitor, study permit, permanent residence, and citizenship applications for principal applicants and their dependents, where applicable
  • Comfortably address inadmissibility matters as required  
  • Manage a broad caseload in a fast-paced SLA-based environment 
  • Run files end-to-end with the support of experienced immigration specialists  
  • Work with client global mobility personnel and global law firms to facilitate applications for submission to government agencies 
  • Draft and prepare letters and legal documents, typically based on established precedents
  • Communicate directly with clients, delivering clear, practical advice  
  • Implement your senior-level understanding of the industries we support as well as the firm’s practice areas and services provided 
  • Collaborate with a supportive team that values knowledge-sharing and mentorship  
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth through initiative, ideas, and client service excellence  
  • Act as a source of advice and training to more junior colleagues, proactively sharing immigration knowledge and expertise 
  • Ensure you and your team follow documented firm standards and policy to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational and client compliance 
  • Remain up to date with CPD requirements and advancements in firm and client technology 
  • Other duties as required 

 

What You Bring: 

  • Called to the Bar in Ontario or other Canadian jurisdiction
  • Licensed with the Law Society of Ontario or other Canadian jurisdiction
  • At least 5 years of experience in Canadian business immigration law  
  • Proven experience managing files independently while effectively working with support staff  
  • Experience working with multinational companies  
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle complex matters with confidence and discretion
  • A proactive, positive and solutions-oriented approach  
  • A genuine interest in being part of a kind, collaborative, and evolving practice  
  • Ability to distill legal jargon into lay-person friendly communication 
  • Ability to effectively employ on-line research tools 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Comfort working with client online applications and management systems 
  • Eagerness to actively contribute to team meetings and firm activities 

 

Assets (Not Required): 

  • Call to the Barreau du Québec  
  • Admission to the bar in any U.S. state  
  • Litigation experience  
  • Ability to communicate and provide legal advice in the French language

  • Salary range: $125,000 – $150,000

Salary will be reasonably determined in good faith upon review of a candidate’s qualifications, depth and length of experience, licensure and certifications, and applicable laws
